Amanda Bossard graduated from high school in the year 1992, and started her studies in marine science at Alaska Pacific University in Anchorage. Bossard began her career as a commercial seafood expert in 1999 when she began working aboard the F/V Sunset, a 65' halibut-schooner, which has become a salmon tender for Murat Aritan, a commercial fisherman since 1993. Bossard is currently engaged to Aritan and the couple has united to make their claim to the market. They are both in favor of conservative and profitable managing of the renewable resources for seafood. Otolith is an independent wholesale distributor of seafood which was founded by a woman in Philadelphia in 2007, by a woman who is now the mother of two kids, Bella age 3 and Andre one year old. Her husband and she are separated by five months, and more for her to be focused on her finances as well as environmental concerns. Bossard along with her son Andre and daughter Isabella are scheduled to return back to Southeast Alaska every summer as deckhands during the wild salmon harvest. Hooks and lines are used to catch their fish and then join Aritan for local processors for a period of two months. They then continue to expand their direct seafood product sale through Otolith Sustainable Seafood. Amanda Bossard works as an anchor/MMJ for News 12 Brooklyn and News 12 Bronx. She has been with this station from November 2015. She is passionate about telling powerful reports and spotlighting all the good things happening in the areas she works for.
